Aakansha (name changed) is a student from an all-girls college in Meerut. Self-defence had always been an intriguing idea for Aakansha, but circumstances prevented her from pursuing this. When self-defence classes began in her college, Aakansha signed up for them. Under the guidance of CISF instructors, she gradually learned various techniques, from basic strikes to more advanced manoeuvres. With each class, Aakansha’s confidence grew, and she began to embrace the physical and mental challenges of self-defence training with enthusiasm. By the end of the program, Aakansha not only developed practical skills to protect herself but also gained a newfound sense of empowerment. Case Study- 4
Neha (name changed) is the first person from her family to attend college. She is also the only daughter of her parents and lives in a village. Every day she spends close to four hours travelling to and from college. On most days, she is accompanied by some family member while travelling to college. On many occasions, Neha even had to miss college when nobody from her family could accompany her. When self-defence classes began in her college, she too signed up out of curiosity. While Neha was diligent in attending all classes, she also made it a point to interact with the lady trainers from CISF. Consequently, a sense of confidence came to her. Empowered by her learnings and newfound confidence, Neha has begun to travel alone. She even plans to attend college in the city.
