Prior to initiating relief, a needs assessment and situation analysis were undertaken in all the states to understand the impact of COVID on vulnerable communities. It was found that sex workers and seasonal migrant workers are the worst hit people.
One of the important features of COVID -19 emergency aid was to mobilize community support in its implementation. The anganwadi, ASHA workers, and community not only helped in assessment but also in the distribution of kits.
Distribution of Medical kits including a surgical mask, hand sanitizer, surface sanitizer, thermometer, oximeter, PPE Kit, and face shields to targeted communities. Apart from this, the biggest advantage of the kit support has been the information dissemination about COVID spread and how to be prevented from it.

i2i team started the promotion of the event well in advance through the distribution of pamphlets and announcements to ensure that information reaches all the community members.

A separate check-up room was established where the ophthalmologists treated the patients. Eye drops were prescribed and distributed to all the patients by doctors
An OPD was established to administer the blood sugar and blood pressure level of patients identified with cataracts. OPD also had a provision for vision verification
Post OPD, patients were also referred for cataract and other surgery. Free spectacles were also distributed to all needy patients
